Adventure into the unknown

After phone calls to removal firms, it looks like we have finally found a
firm able to move us! We are going from one storage unit to another
closer to Haywards Heath. Now for those of you who’ve not had the chance to put the entire contents of your home in storage, let me set the scene for you:
an old warehouse with lots of cubicles, very grey and a little eerie. We
often check over our shoulder to make sure someone doesn’t come along
and lock us in our store! It has the soulless feel and is silent, similarly
conveyed in 'Lost in translation'.

My other dramas of the week were: trying to blag tickets to see James
Morrison at a secret gig, losing my Scott Matthews cd for all of twenty
minutes, and not fully appreciating Richard’s choice of card for our
anniversary (eight years)!!!

A pleasant distraction comes in the form of going to the cinema this evening to see Superman. For a sci-fi/fantasy/comic book lover, this is a real treat! Anyway I have to stop building it up in my head, after all it is only a film!

Reading a friend's blog, I learned that their 4 year old ran a mile for spots relief, the little EB, raised £250 for such a worthy cause...anyhow it got me thinking about parenting once more and how it’s instinctive for children to learn from their parents, sometimes when you listen to the news, read stories about growing up in today’s world, as a parent you feel lost with all that you yearn to teach your children with regards to character and values, but if it is place in your lifestyle the lesson can be learned so gracefully, naturally and with ease!

The choice of music tells all...I've entered into my Beth Orton, Keren Ann,Sia and Jose Gonzal listening, which either means we are entertaining folks or that my head has reached overload and I sleepy need mellow music to keep me focused. A weekend of a serious lack of sleep has set us back some what. However in the light of the sun kissed rays, we took shelter and enjoy chilling...

Progess report: Windows repaired and painted and bathroom cleaned three times! Minor jobs of wiping down the woodwork and putting up some pictures in LV's room, were accomplished with ease.

Spent lunch with ED and then headed of into Brighton, also Maya from no.67 invited LV and myself over for a drink and then as we were loading up the car, David (Lesley’s husband) from no.73 dropped by to say ‘hi’ and invited us over for a glass of wine…we are surprised how friendly the neighbours are!

As dates are pushed back, I can't help but wonder about this learning process??? The feeling of being unsettled is still prominent. It's funny when I was in my teens, I never wanted to settle or put down roots, now it's a different story..who would have thought it?

Not so much feeling like a human at the moment, the word robot would be more apt! The last two weeks, Rich and I have been trying to cramp as much into our days, including entertaining LV, which as resulted in non stop activity. This is not in our nature as we love our 'quite' times in life. But the result has been so satisfying! We have moved some basic furniture into our home and painted the really nasty rooms yellow, ie Kitchen and Middle room. Our decorator has started to repair and restore the front sash windows, (we are leaving the back ones, as it may have to be knocked out)! Also the gas man is popping over on the 27th to quote us for having central heating installed. We are unpacking to find the essentials and then re-packing as we haven't got much space in the storage dept!
The really gross moments came thick and fast as we discovered lots of dead insects, everyway!
